nice to see good activity on the forum. Please hold on from holding any rally until you hear from IV core. We have some good synergy amongst or members in So Cal, lets plan a meeting in the coming weeks and decide on an action plan. I would encourage you to start thinking about ideas/specific actions we can take. I have a few ideas and would share it on our so cal email distribution list. I totally agree..he was all ga ga abt what USCIS is doing and how efficently they have already processed 65% of available visa numbers for the fiscal.
Other than boasting how excellent USCIS is doing their job, there was nothing new or helpful to the actual bill. It was actually counter to the task at hand. That was Aytes...

let me ask you this. did anyone from "leadership" call/email/contact you when you were inactive/busy with your life. if the leaders did not call/email you, how will you know if your help is needed. i don't see how its u'r fault
yep, they did, they called email me and asked me to contact other people and organize in a state chapter level. They are also helping on getting other people to help me mobilize members from a state chapter level. The point is the sense of urgency on how we need to move forward together. There is absolutely no room for confusion and I agree when people dont see results, there is always suspicion. But to build an organization from scratch is no easy task, we must recognize that and be respectful of people who do put their time and efforts to make things happen. We all must channelize our energy to making this successful. Everyone has their opinions and I respect that, but I am more interested on hearing solutions if you see there is no progress. Simply asking for change but knowing what change means to all of us will have no takers!

The USCIS automated line for Priority dates is still playing the PD's for June 2007 showing that EB-3 India cut off June 1st 2003 etc..
We have so contrasting images of the efficiency of USCIS. Hope they keep the same tempo as of the last week of June on Oct 1st when the FY 2008 quota kicks in.

This should answer MOST of the people's questions about this tax stimulus plan. Single (or) Married, have SSN or ITIN, you can find the answers by reading the following. (Cut/pasted from IRS website).

You're eligible if you have a valid Social Security Number (SSN) and show qualifying income of at least $3,000 on your federal tax return. I just spoke to a lady at USCIS and she told me they just started working on case receipts for July 2nd and onwards so in next couple of weeks most of you who filed in first week of july should see their receipts..this is what she told me and she sounded very authentic..
I think they are all on same page. Entering all applications in their systems by monday and another8-10 days for all to get receipts makes it 2 weeks :)

That is exactly the point. How can you then argue that all PD porting is unethical, period?
There should be a clause that when porting of PD is being issued, Like "At the time of EB3 Labor was the person eligible for EB2"! Thats the whole point ..

reddog, please explain how you have supported IV in the past in non-monetary ways. For lobbying, there is not much you can do other than support monetarily,or make trips to DC yourself.
I am sure IV core will at least consider such non-monetary support on case-by-case basis.

thus one can say lack of social security numbers for spouse and kids of a high skilled immigrant waiting for gc causes sevaral administrative and taxation issues.
Please also note:
Gor GC waiters, the child tax credit will not be available for kids under age 1.
In Oct 2004, my kid was 6 months when she landed in US.
When she was 9 months in Jan 2005, I tried to include her in my tax returns but IRS said I can not include her until she becomes one year old.
This year 2006, I could include her after getting her an ITIN.
In short, child taxation issue is there only for one year at the maximum.

The status of AP seems to be changing practically everyday. The message (document mailed) first appeared on Jan 7, Then changed to Jan 8 with same message and today I see a date change in my portfolio (last updated section). Not sure when the document will actually get mailed...

I'm not a high salary guy nor an $100/hour consultant. I'm just like so many of you, need to support the family as well.But just consider the selfless efforts of IV for all of us. please try to contribute as much as you can, of course this is just a request only.

Received a direct deposit from IRS today of $1200. I am on H1B and my wife on H4 and both of us have SSNs. We had filed jointly.
Also another friend of mine received his refud for a family of 4 - he is on H1B, wife on H4, both have SSNs, one daughter US citizen (has SSN) and another daughter Indian citizen (no SSN). He got 600 + 600 + 300= $ 1500.
It all adds up...

I was wondering about DOL letter which my employer received yesterday..for Recruitment process for 30 days..I wanted to know is it because of the conversion we did to RIR process some days back or is it just that they caught up with my TR application after 5 years..TR-Oct 2001
